January 21, 2011

By Rose Ross (@Rose_at_O)

Come along ladies and gentlemen, we know there is nothing finer than to get recognition for one’s achievements. So get cracking to nominate yourselves, your projects and your teams in relevant categories of the DCS (Data Centre Solutions) Awards listed below.

The deadline of February 11th is just a few weeks away (Unless extended, but don’t bank on it!)

****A very small nomination fee of £50 is donated to the Make a Wish Foundation so even if you don’t make it this time you will be doing good. So don’t be shy!

The judges include the esteemed analysts: Claus Egge (@c_egge) and Tony Lock at Freeform Dynamics(@tonyl) and Phil Alsop, Editor of SNS Europe. We’re hoping to speak with them over the coming week or so to share some gems on what they are looking for in the winners. Watch this space for updates, hints and tips!

From the horse’s mouth i.e. the organisers, here’s the scoop:

Angel Business Communications (Ed. also the makers of SNW Europe and SNS UK, SNS Europe and StorageWelt) is pleased to announce the 2011 DCS awards. Covering many of the key areas of IT technology, these awards will be made based solely on the online voting of the readers of our print and online stable of publications. We are now seeking nominations for the 13 categories:

– Enterprise Project of the Year

– Storage Virtualisation Project of the Year

– Cloud Services Project of the Year

– Public Sector Project of the Year

– Environmental Project of the Year

– Innovative Data Center Project of the Year

– Data Centre Service Provider of the Year

– Business Continuity Project of the Year

– Long-term Archiving Project of the Year

– Data Centre Consolidation Project of the Year

– Innovative Storage Project of the Year

– Systems Integrator / Reseller of the Year

– DCS Industry Awards

We would be delighted to discuss any of the sponsorship packages available. Our online entry procedure is simple and straightforward with all entry fees being consolidated and donated to our nominated charity for 2011, The Make a Wish® UK Foundation. Nominations will close on Friday, 11 February 2011. After the deadline a judging panel of respected UK editors and analysts will validate entries and announce the ‘Finalists’ to be forwarded for voting in February by the readership of Angel Business Communications stable of publications (SNS Europe, SNS UK and DCS).

The winners will be announced at a gala evening on 17 March 2011 in London. We look forward to receiving your nominations ASAP and to working with you in making the awards a success for you and your clients – and hopefully to sharing what will be a very entertaining evening with you also.
