Number of Hard Disk Drive manufacturers nosedives, reports Storage Newsletter

Hard disk drive (HDD) Manufacturers experience considerable recent decline, with vast closures and acquisition.  In his Storage Newsletter article, Jean- Jacques Maleval provides us with a vast list of defunct HDD manufacturers aka the “HDD graveyard”.

According to Maleval, it appears Seagate, Toshiba and WD remain the only major players in an industry that seems to be declining, with the decrease from 221 manufacturers to just the above three.
