As our own Rose Ross (@Rose_at_O) blogged back in February, next Friday, April 26th is the call for papers deadline for the Storage Networking World Europe (SNW Europe), Datacenter Technologies and Virtualization World conferences.

As in previous years, the event organisers are seeking “quality submissions from IT end-users, consultants, industry analysts and system integrators/VARs, describing case studies or technology update sessions that focus on real-world deployments and/or methods and best practices to evaluate new, existing or future solutions. ” More information and suggested topics are available here.

If you’re busy putting together your submission, you might be interested in these tips for winning an SNW Europe speaking slot, taken from a previous Countdown2StorageExpo blog post based on a conversation with the conference programme director at the time, Paul Trowbridge: Read the rest of this entry ?

Just send the name of your company, the name of your potential speaker, and a very brief outline of the speech to Francesca.hannay@informa.com, and she will let you know if there is a chance for you to speak.

There are currently over 60 speakers lined up for Big Data World; check out the keynote speakers here. Over 150 big data solution providers are exhibiting, including event sponsors Talend, BAE Systems, Deltica and Basho. You can register to attend here, but please note that you will have to pay to attend the seminars (an early-bird discount applies until May 10th).

The agenda currently includes sessions on the financial sector’s need for new analytics, cloud-friendly Hadoop, choosing a big data solution that fits your business objectives and more. Read the rest of this entry ?

ExecEvent BIG Event Speaking Opportunities via Emerging Vendors Showcase and Big Data Startup Focus

June 15, 2012

By Olivia Shannon, @olivia_at_o

Technology networking and business development event ExecEvent has announced some exciting new speaking and networking opportunities for vendors of storage, virtualization, security, cloud and data centre technology.

At next month’s BIG Event in Santa Clara, California (July 10-11), there will be two separate showcases – one for emerging vendors in the data world, and the other for “big data companies you should know about in 2012.”   Each company will present for 10-minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A before an audience of potential partners, VCs, press and analysts. Participating vendors are eligible for consideration for an Execullence Award for Best of Show, Most Disruptive Technology or Coolest New Technology. Judges for the Execullence Awards include representatives from companies like Intel, IBM, EMC, NetApp, HP, HDS as well as selected venture capitalists and financiers.

The BIG Event is the one time in 2012 that ExecEvent will bring together executives from across the storage spectrum in the U.S.  The agenda highlights include speeches with a panel of Silicon Valley VCs, an open networking session, a corporate development panel and sales workshop.

There is also this mysterious teaser from the ExecEvent website: “We’ll have a VERY special guest speaker at our ‘Pre’ reception on Monday early evening.  Please try to attend – you’ll kick yourself for missing this.”

ExecEvent will take place July 10-11 in Santa Clara, CA.   There will be opportunities for informal networking in both “pre” and “post” cocktail receptions. Registration is $975.  See The BIG Event Registration for more information.

In order to be considered for the emerging vendors showcase:

  1. Complete and submit the Emerging Vendor Showcase Application (or simply send an email outlining why you think you are interesting and should be chosen)
  2. Register 2 or more attendees – the Big Event registration
